COMPANY PROFILE
Smart Coating Technologies (SCT) is a spin-off company of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), incorporated in 26th February 2015 to commercialise coating technologies and related products developed at UBD. The research and development of the coating technologies was initially funded under the Brunei Research Incentive Scheme (BRISc) in the form of a technology transfer project carried out in collaboration with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Pixela Corporation based in Japan.
In May 2018, SCT became the first small and medium enterprise (SME) based in Brunei Darussalam to be granted a licensing agreement from UBD to manufacture, market and export high-quality, made-in-Brunei, protective coating products.
SCT looks forward to adding further value towards the diversification of Brunei Darussalam’s economy, bringing our efforts and contributions one step closer towards achieving the nation’s aspiration of Wawasan 2035.
SCT business model revolves around the manufacture and market of high-quality coating products, generating Intellectual Properties (IP) by collaboration with higher institutes of learning and training highly-skilled workers for the benefit of the country.
